Contouring with Deoxycholic Acid (Kybella®) at Aesthetic Mentor is an elective course for medical professionals interested in learning the safe and effective injection of Kybella®→ (deoxycholic acid), for the reduction of fat in the submental (double chin) area.
No previous experience in medical aesthetics is required.

Dr. Russo and his team of expert mentors will guide you through a blend of didactic and hands-on training, beginning in our virtual classroom of on-demand curriculum. This is followed by hands-on injectable training in a clinical environment where you will treat a minimum of 1-2 models. All models will be provided. Our 2:1 student-to-educator ratio provides an unsurpassed learning experience, giving you the support and confidence you need to begin treating patients right away.
The deoxycholic acid in Kybella® is a naturally occurring substance found in the human body that breaks down dietary fats. When administered via multiple subcutaneous injections, Kybella begins working instantly to break down fat cells and its proprietary formula continues to prevent future fat cells from forming in the treatment area.
The aesthetic market is booming, and the demand for aesthetic nurses and injectors has never been greater. The national average salary for an aesthetic nurse is around $90,000, with the capability of earning double or triple that depending on your experience. Compared to hospital work, many nurses find the private practice setting more conducive to establishing a greater work/life balance.

Contouring with Deoxycholic Acid is designed for medical professionals holding an active and unrestricted medical license in their field of practice. No previous experience in medical aesthetics is required.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to identify necessary anatomical landmarks for the safe injection of deoxycholic acid (Kybella®), techniques for optimal patient outcomes, and practice injecting deoxycholic acid (Kybella®) in a supported learning environment.
A combination of on-demand didactic and a clinical practicum offers a unique learning environment to quickly expand the learner's knowledge base.

AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 5.0 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program.
Refund Requests: Course cancellations must be requested via email and with on-demand training unviewed to receive a full refund. Cancellations outside of these parameters will result in credit or partial refund only, as follows:
On-Demand Training: On-demand training is non-refundable once the On-Demand training is started. You may still receive any applicable CME's upon successful completion of the entire on-demand training, including the exam and evaluation. CME's will not be provided for incomplete training.
On-Location Training: On-demand training MUST be completed prior to attending on-location training. We reserve the right to refuse on-location training in the event of incomplete on-demand training, and the student will incur all penalties. Clinic dates may be rescheduled without penalty with two weeks notice. If you request to cancel or reschedule on-location training within two weeks of the training date, you will be subject to a cancellation fee of 10% of course tuition.
Clinic dates are subject to cancellation or change, and rescheduling options will be provided. CMEs will not be provided for incomplete training. High standard COVID safety measures are taken for all on-location events.
